Breast Cancer Prevention Fund


Washington Residents Provides $500,000 for Local Breast Cancer Screenings 

 

December 20, 2006, Everett — Today, the Breast Cancer Prevention Fund provided
another $100,000 grant to theWashington State Department of Health.  The charitable donation will support the Breast and Cervical Health Program 
to provide mammograms to
Washington
women who would otherwise be unable to afford screening. 

 

This grant makes $500,000 that the Breast Cancer Prevention Fund has provided in 2006 soley through donations made by Washington residents.  
 

The Fund’s website, www.breastcancerpreventionfund.org, provides research-based information on performing a breast self-exam, causes, diagnosis, prevention, and risk factors

for breast cancer, and important information on the efficacy of mammograms.  Also included

are numerous links to other sites, including support and counseling groups, as well as a

request form for uninsured or underinsured women who want a mammogram.
