Washington Residents Support the Breast Cancer Prevention Fund

November 25, 2006, Everett — Washington residents have continued to show their
generosity through their donations to the Breast Cancer Prevention Fund (BCPF).  Today, BCPF was able to provide their fourth grant of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) to the Washington State Department of Health.  The charitable donation
will support the Breast and Cervical Health Program
to provide mammograms to
Washington
women who would otherwise be unable to afford screening.

BCPF was founded in 2004 for the purpose of saving lives through education and breast cancer screenings and began Washington outreach efforts in October of 2005.

The Fund’s website, www.breastcancerpreventionfund.org, provides research-based information on performing a breast self-exam, causes, diagnosis, prevention, and risk factors

for breast cancer, and important information on the efficacy of mammograms.  Also included

are numerous links to other sites, including support and counseling groups, as well as a

request form for uninsured or underinsured women who want a mammogram.
