$100,000 Donated for Uninsured Women

July 28, 2006, Everett — Yet another $100,000 donation to support free mammograms was provided today to the Washington State Department of Health by the Breast Cancer Prevention Fund.  The charitable donation will support the Breast and Cervical Health
Program
to provide mammograms to Washington women who would otherwise be unable

to afford screening.

The Breast Cancer Prevention Fund was founded in 2004 for the purpose of saving lives through education and breast cancer screenings.   The Breast Cancer prevention Fund has

now donated $300,000.00 within the last six months.

The Fund’s website, www.breastcancerpreventionfund.org, provides research-based information on performing a breast self-exam, causes, diagnosis, prevention, and risk factors

for breast cancer, and important information on the efficacy of mammograms.  Also included

are numerous links to other sites, including support and counseling groups, as well as a

request form for uninsured or underinsured women who want a mammogram.
